Leeds club TESTBED to reopen next month following major renovations

The upgrade features a new “panoramic” mezzanine, and custom 360-degree stage and DJ booth.

The Hunslet Lane venue is expanding from 10,000 to 23,000 square feet, with a new 5,000-square-foot mezzanine featuring “panoramic balcony views” and a custom 360-degree stage and DJ booth.

It will now be the only venue in the city with a custom L-Acoustics L2 system.

TESTBED has also been fitted with upgrades including a new Chauvet lighting system, while other additions include improvements to ventilation and a new “massive” 8m x 4m high-res LED video wall.

Four new toilet blocks have also been added to the venue.

A new room in the club is also on course to be launched in 2027.

All renovations were carried out in collaboration with Junction 2 and Ironworks promoters AMAAD, and overseen by TESTBED founders Laura Wellington and James Abbott-Donnelly.

The newly revamped TESTBED will open its doors again in September, with opening details “dropping soon”.

Opened in 2022, TESTBED has become an important part of Leeds’ club circuit, with recent bookings including Sub Focus, Max Dean, Hybrid Minds, and Girls Don’t Sync.
