Damian Lazarus’ music studio in Tuscany was destroyed by a large fire over the weekend.
The “entire room went up in smoke”, but the building’s frame remained intact thanks to the fire-resistant soundproofing Lazarus had installed.
I’m devastated, of course, but I’m reminded that everything is impermanent,” Lazarus wrote. “I had just finished working on my new single, and fortunately all of that project is saved and will be released this year as planned.
As a wise Buddhist once said, ‘The barn has burned down. Now I can see the moon’.”.
Lazarus confirmed that his forthcoming single was unaffected by the fire and remains due for release later this year: “I had just finished working on my new single, and fortunately all of that project is saved and will be released this year as planned.”.
