See circle pits, stage-diving and solidarity as Turnstile play massive gig to 60,000 people and raise $220k

Turnstile played their biggest headline show to date at the Washington Monument, drawing in 60,000 fans and raising money for the people in Palestine, Sudan, and Lebanon.

  1. Uche Yara’s body music is defiantly human: “I have no choice but to wear my heart on my sleeve”.
  2. De La Soul’s Posdnuos: “Tupac saved me from getting beat up in the Bay Area”.
  3. Pulp on their full circle moment with the Mercury Prize and Brian Eno nearly throwing their prize money away.
  4. Taika Waititi’s ‘Klara And The Sun’ soundtrack proves his indie kid credentials.
  5. Whiskey, ‘Widow’s Bay’ and Johnny Cash: how the “dark folk” soundtrack of ‘Marvel’s Wolverine’ came together.

The gig took place on Saturday (October 24) and marked the final date on the Baltimore hardcore icon’s huge North American tour, which kicked off in June and celebrated their 2025 album ‘Never Enough’.

The frontman, who was also recovering from an injured ankle at the time, also spoke to The Washington Post ahead of the gig about the importance of playing the show and using their platform to raise money for charity.

The gig made Turnstile the latest band to perform a free benefit gig in Washington D. C. for good causes – following on from sets from fellow punk stars Fugazi who did so back in the ‘90s.

The free show took place after the band spoke to NME at the 2026 BRIT Awards about the importance of musicians using their platforms to speak out against injustice.

Since releasing ‘Never Enough’, the hardcore giants have dropped ‘Never Enough: Versions’ – a complete reworking of the album featuring collaborators including Elton John, Hayley Williams, Blood Orange, A.

G. Cook, Julien Baker, Four Tet and Slayyyter.
