The musician has curated a playlist featuring songs to listen to before her ‘Bodyscanner’ gigs, including tracks from Princess Nokia, Little Simz, Leikeli47, Doechii, Alewya, and more.

In The Cover, Uche Yara discusses her “intuitive” approach to making music and having her creativity encouraged as a child. “I was so lucky to be led by teachers that pushed this inner child in me,” she says, crediting those same teachers for instilling rigour and an avant-garde fearlessness in her.

Elsewhere, she shares insight into her debut album ‘Bodyscanner’, which arrived in September and engages with subjects such as the climate crisis and historical injustice head-on.
