The 2026 edition of the awards ceremony was held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles last night (Monday September 14), and saw Widow’s Bay, The Pitt, and DTF St Louis among the big winners.

Hargitay is a longtime friend of Swift, with the actor previously joining Swift on her 2015 ‘1989’ tour, making a cameo in her 2014 ‘Bad Blood’ video, and in the crowd for her massive ‘Eras Tour’ in 2024.

People also report that the two have named their cats after one another – with Swift naming a cat after Olivia Benson’s character, and Hargitay naming her cat after the Swift song ‘Karma’.

Winners at the 2026 Emmys included Noah Wyle, who snagged Lead Actor in a Drama Series for the second year in a row for The Pitt, having faced off against Paradise’s Sterling K Brown, Slow Horses’ Gary Oldman, Task’s Mark Ruffalo, and The Diplomat’s Rufus Sewell.

Apple TV+’s breakout comedy horror series Widow’s Bay had an impressive showing with 19 nominations too, with lead actor Matthew Rhys making history after becoming the first person to win Emmys in two Lead Actor categories in the same year.

Joining him in making history was Hacks star Jean Smart, who picked up the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, making her the first woman to be victorious in the lead category for every season of her show’s run.
