Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” Ties Record for Most Weeks at No. 1

Ella Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” tem ocupado sua 22ª semana consecutiva no topo do Billboard Hot 100, igualando o recorde histórico detido por “All I Want for Christmas Is You” de Mariah Carey.

Durante 23 anos, “One Sweet Day”, dueto de Carey com Boyz II Men do álbum Daydream de 1995, detinha o título que agora ela compartilha com Langley, com 16 semanas no topo.

O remix de “Despacito” de Daddy Yankee e Luis Fonsi, com participação de Justin Bieber, igualou o recorde em 2017, e “Old Town Road” de Lil Nas X finalmente o superou no ano seguinte, acumulando 19 semanas no topo das paradas.

O recorde de “Old Town Road” permaneceu praticamente inquestionado até o final de 2024, quando Shaboozey o igualou com “A Bar Song (Tipsy).” Enquanto isso, a cada temporada de festas desde 2019, “All I Want for Christmas Is You” vinha acumulando mais semanas no topo, até que, no ano passado, Carey finalmente recuperou seu título.

Langley lançou “Choosin’ Texas” em outubro de 2025, como single principal de seu terceiro álbum de estúdio, Dandelion. A música entrou nas paradas do Billboard no mês seguinte e atingiu sua posição máxima em fevereiro.

Langley released “Choosin’ Texas” in October 2025, as the lead single from her third studio album, Dandelion. The song entered the Billboard charts the following month, and first hit its peak position back in February.

Dandelion was also the No. 1 album in the country for two weeks in April.
