Moaning’ is a true story, raw and exposed", the LA-based UK artist said in a press statement. "There are so many ways our pleasure is taken from us, then sold back in artificial forms.

O prazer é a nova anarquia.

In that dark place, pleasure became a fascination. I’d forgotten what pleased me. I had to start thinking about that and finding little ways to take back ownership of my own pleasure.

The press release teased "more exciting news to come", hinting that with 'Moaning', Aluna may have just started her next album cycle. Prior to 'MYCELiUM', she released her first album, 'Renaissance', in 2020.

In 2024, Aluna launched the Noir Fever label with 'Fédération Internationale du Bruit', the debut mixtape from Montréal-based collective and party series Moonshine.

Aluna and Jayda G's joint single 'Mine O Mine' is featured in the trailer for GTA 6, out next month.
