Fontaines D.C. Share Video for New Song “Tongue”

Fontaines D. C. have shared “Tongue,” a second single from the Irish rock behemoth’s new album Dopamine Chamber. The band members filmed themselves on a visit to New York for the John Angus Stewart-directed video, which you can watch below.

Guitarist Conor Curley said in a press release that the song “continued where Romance left off, leaving the live-band elements until they were really needed.” In practice, that sounds like a tape-manipulated bassline from Conor Deegan and a Grian Chatten vocal line distorted in a sampler, thanks to handiwork from guitarist Carlos O’Connell.

The James Ford-produced Dopamine Chamber arrives October 16 via XL, as the band gears up for a huge tour that so far includes no U. S. dates. Rosalía was recently unveiled as the album’s only guest, and the first on any Fontaines album.

The band snagged her for a duet on “Where Is Gone?”; by contrast, Bono recently got cold feet about asking the Catalan singer to guest on the new U2 album and decided to do an impression of her instead.
