Twin Atlantic have dropped the tender new single ‘Supersweetness’, which sees Sam McTrusty pay tribute to his daughters and enlist them for backing vocals.

The new single is the latest to be shared from the Glasgow band’s new album ‘Separation From The Animals’, which they announced earlier this summer with the rousing single ‘In Your Eyes’ and details of a 2026 tour.
Set for release on October 2 via Dance To The Radio, the album has also been previewed by ‘Don’t Quit It’, and sees the Scottish outfit explore themes of truth and brutal honesty.
Now, they have dropped another taster of the new LP with the heartfelt single ‘Supersweetness’, which sees frontman Sam McTrusty enlist the help of his young daughters on backing vocals.
Speaking about the track, the singer shared: “Every song is a love song really, but this one is about the bittersweet feeling of adoring my children until the point where it makes me feel ill.”.
He also added that it was inspired by that overwhelming feeling of “loving something so much that it actually hurts”.
As for the album itself, ‘Separation From The Animals’ marks the follow-up to 2024’s ‘Meltdown’ and is the first time that all four founding members have recorded together on a Twin Atlantic record for years.
It is set to see them at their most raw and exposed, and was written following McTrusty starting a new life in Toronto with wife and two kids.
He continued: “This is what we’ve always been but with the veil lifted… I hope people hear the record and it inspires them to do that and be more honest with themselves.”.

He continued: “Since we released [2011’s] ‘Free’ and [2009’s] ‘Vivarium’, fans have basically been asking us to make those albums again. We’ve never been that excited by revisiting the past, but enough time has passed that it felt interesting to do.”.
