Travis Barker says Blink-182 are working on a new album

READ MORE: Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus on death, defiance and dick jokes: “I’m very thankful to be alive”.

The drummer, who is set to release his new documentary Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear on Hulu and Disney+ on August 13, was speaking during a new interview with The New York Times‘ Popcast.

When asked about what he was currently working on, Barker said: “I’m starting a couple of other projects, like producing projects, working on the next Blink album.”.

When he was then asked whether the band were working on the record this year or in 2027, he added: “Working on the Blink album this year.” Barker also revealed that he is producing and playing drums on the next Alkaline Trio album.

Blink-182’s last album was 2023’s ‘One More Time…’, which was their first record in over a decade with the original trio of Mark Hoppus, Tom DeLonge and Barker.

Their last major tour was the ‘Missionary Impossible’ tour last year.

The band recently released a 20th anniversary reissue of their 2001 album ‘Take Off Your Pants And Jacket’, which featured six bonus tracks.

Meanwhile, Louder Than Fear recently had its world premiere at Spring Studios in New York, as part of this year’s Tribeca Festival.

Directed by Justin Krook and Michael Dwyer, the doc explores the Blink-182 drummer’s life and career, the 2008 plane crash that almost claimed his life, and the “raw and redemptive journey” he embarked on afterwards.

Elsewhere last year, Mark Hoppus spoke to NME about his emotional memoir Fahrenheit-182, and also opened up about how the band have grown since forming the band in the early ‘90s.
