The Mac Miller Estate announces ‘The Divine Feminine (10th Anniversary)’ and share the first of three new

The estate of Mac Miller has announced a new 10th anniversary reissue of his album ‘The Divine Feminine’, which comes with three previously unreleased songs. Check out the first, ‘Butterflies’, below.

The album arrived back in 2016 and marked a turning point in Miller’s career. While the 2015 predecessor ‘GO:OD AM’ saw him double down on his rap-dominated sound, his fourth album saw him take a new, more heartfelt approach – developing a concept album that explored the power of love and the sacred energy of women.

It was previewed by three singles, ‘Dang!’ which featured Anderson . Paak, ‘We’ which featured CeeLo Green, and ‘My Favorite Part’ which starred Ariana Grande.

Now, to mark the 10th anniversary of the record, the late singer’s estate is re-releasing the album to celebrate the landmark moment, and the new reissue will feature three previously unreleased songs.

Set for release on October 2, the album will be available both digitally and as a 3LP vinyl edition. Visit here to pre-order.

The first of the new songs is called ‘Butterfly’ and is available to listen to now. It features production from Taylor Graves and bass from Miller’s friend and longtime collaborator, Thundercat.

As well as announcing the new anniversary album, the estate of Miller has also launched a new website for the late artist, which is designed in conjunction with James Musgrave and Kate Doyle for XXIX.

Having been in the works for years, the site is an interactive tribute to the life and work of Mac Miller, featuring archival media from friends and colleagues.

Another previously unreleased song with Mac Miller was released in February, when Thundercat shared the groove-driven track ‘She Knows Too Much’. To release the song, which the two of them started before Miller’s passing in 2018, Thundercat sought permission from the late star’s estate.

The first posthumous release from Miller was the 2020 album ‘Circles’. In a four-star review, NME described the album as “a very conflicting listen”, adding: “It’s a high-quality project, but we lost Mac way too soon, and that’s hard to accept.
