Each turntable will feature an individually engraved anniversary badge with its serial number.
Technics is celebrating the 55th anniversary of its iconic SL-1200 turntable series with a special edition model.
The SL-1200 55th Anniversary Edition will be available next month in a limited-edition run of 12,000 units. Each turntable features an engraved anniversary badge beside the serial number, along with gold detailing across the tonearm, platter rim, strobe marks, knobs and buttons.
The edition also comes with a custom slipmat and will be available in seven colours: gold, black, white, red, blue, green and grey.
Pricing will be announced ahead of the global release in September. The anniversary model will be unveiled publicly at the upcoming DMC DJs Day in Warsaw on 20th August.
The anniversary edition’s gold detailing builds on Technics’ recent design work for streetwear brand Aimé Leon Dore, as well as the SL-1200 series’ 50th anniversary release in 2021, when the brand introduced the SL-1200 M7L model.
