The list of benefiting organizations includes Planned Parenthood and Center for Reproductive Rights.
At a press conference attended by Billboard on Friday (Aug. 28), Rodrigo revealed the eye-popping amount her festival’s ticket sales have brought in for its benefitting organizations.
The news comes one day prior to the first-ever Daisy Chain Fields, a daylong event taking place in Irvine, California. Rodrigo personally curated the lineup, which features Chappell Roan, Doechii, Mitski, Garbage, The Breeders, Bikini Kill and more, as well as “special guests” Stevie Nicks, Karen O and Sarah McLachlan.
KATSEYE was also intended to play a set, but it was announced Thursday that the girl group had dropped out in light of member Megan spraining her ankle, with Devon Again subbing in on the bill.
Rodrigo first announced Daisy Chain in June. “i’ve had a dream of doing this festival for years and i am so ecstatic its finally coming true!!” she said at the time.
i firmly believe that joy, community, and music can be the drivers of meaningful change and I’m hopeful this festival will be just that.”.
