New Manchester club, Locker, to open in New Century building

The 450-capacity venue will open on the ground floor of the 1960s Grade II-listed New Century office building in early October. Audio engineers Adlib will have designed the L-Acoustics soundsystem for the sprung-flooring dance floor.

Locker's opening weekend, will host Nooriyah, Adele Tondu, Imad:re on Friday, 2nd October, with Paranoid London performing live with Mutado Pintado, plus DJ Subaru, Kiosk and more special guests on Saturday, the 3rd.

The rest of Locker's inaugural season line-up features Sochi Terada, Jyoty, IZCO, Two Shell, Logic1000, Massimilano Pagliara, Manuka Honey and more.

Manchester's music scene has seen ups and downs so far this year. Back in May, The White Hotel announced its planned closure in January 2027, and Stage & Radio called on support in an ongoing dispute with neighbouring developers.

In July, the shop Onsite Records opened in the Northern Quarter, and a Haçienda-themed bar opened in Manchester Airport in April. Local institution Sankeys announced its new location has secured a 6 AM license as of March.
