Neil Peart Documentary No One’s Disciple Gets First Trailer

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation has shared the first trailer for No One’s Disciple, a documentary about late Rush drummer Neil Peart. Peart’s bandmates, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, both get talking heads, as do a couple of his drummer peers: Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith and the Police’s Stewart Copeland.

At one point, he describes how, “When I started to get around 11 or 12 years old I was banging around the house and smashing up pots and pans, and my parents got the idea that I liked to hit things with sticks.” Co-directed by Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn, No One’s Disciple will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 16.

A wide release date for the documentary has not been set. Lee and Lifeson are currently knee-deep into their mammoth Fifty Something World Tour, with new touring drummer Anika Nilles filling in for Peart.
