The pair are getting on stage together to play the first UK edition of Diaspora Calling!
The pair are set to reunite on stage tonight (7th August) for the first UK edition of Diaspora Calling! festival at Milton Keynes National Bowl. Speaking to the BBC ahead of the festival, Hill said they had gone through “an incredible healing process”, while Jean said they are “in an amazing place” and that he is “back with my bandmate”.
When asked about the possibility of new music, Jean repeated the question to Hill: “Will there be music in the future?” She responded: “Absolutely”.
The pair last performed together at New York’s Global Citizen Festival in 2023, where they celebrated the 25th anniversary of Hill’s seminal 1998 album, ‘The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill’. Hill’s sons, Zion and YG Marley – grandsons of Bob Marley – will also appear at the Diaspora Calling! event, which celebrates Haitian art and music.

The pair had previously announced plans for a 25th-anniversary tour celebrating their Grammy-winning debut album ‘The Score’, but later cancelled the dates.
Earlier in the spring, Hill reflected on her choice to not release a follow-up to ‘The Miseducation’, writing: “When you’re inspired and desire to be principled, what doesn’t get talked about enough is the drain... nor the challenge to find safety so that you can create with integrity”.
In February, Hill headed up a tribute to the late D'Angelo and Roberta Flack at the 2026 GRAMMY Awards. She was among the artists inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame earlier this year.
