Is the new Oasis teaser telling us they’re playing a Manchester residency?

Fans have been decoding a new teaser video shared on Oasis’ social media, and have made guesses at potential gigs in Manchester and Knebworth.

Rumours have been swirling around a possible 2027 tour, which would follow up their hugely successful ‘Live ‘25’ reunion shows held around the world last year. Reports have claimed a 12-night residency at the Etihad Stadium, home of Manchester City Football Club, and a return to Knebworth are on the cards.

Yesterday (September 3), the band’s official X (formerly Twitter) account shared a teaser video of two boys waiting in a chip shop, with Oasis’ 2002 song ‘Little By Little’ playing on a television.

Eagle-eyed viewers noticed that numbers on flyers posted around the shop added up to the longitude and latitude of Celtic Park in Glasgow.

Today (September 4), a new video has been posted, this time showing two boys playing football against a brick wall. One boy is writing a tally of goals (11) on the wall, while the other is juggling the football.

The end of the clip sees the boy with the football score another goal. The significance of the imagery has led to some fans thinking this is a tacit confirmation of the 12-night residency at the Etihad.

The football and goalposts speak to the Etihad being a football stadium, while the 11 goal tally suggests the final goal scored is the 12th. A small blue moon in the background furthers that theory, given that Manchester City’s anthem is ‘Blue Moon’ by The Marcels.

The Gallagher brothers are life-long fans of the club, famously playing at their previous ground, Maine Road, in 1996.

Others believe that a hint at Knebworth may be suggested in the clip. Fans have spotted a T-shirt resembling the kind sold at the 1996 record-breaking concerts hanging up in the background.

Recently, the promoters of the ‘Live ‘25’ tour were granted a licence to host gigs at the famous venue.

Liam and Noel Gallagher will make a rare appearance together tomorrow (September 5) at the Venice premiere for Don’t Look Back In Anger, the new documentary heading to cinemas on September 9, with a Disney+ release set for later in the year.

The movie covers the brothers’ reunion, rehearsals, and performances during the ‘Live ‘25’ tour.
