Hodge announces new album, ‘Big Splash’, on Local Action

Hodge has announced a new album on Local Action. 'Big Splash' will be released on 2nd October, and you can listen to the title track below.

Inspired by deep house and garage sets, and the chaos of having kids.

The Bristol producer's second full length, and first since 2020's 'Shadows In Blue', arrives after a string of singles for the acclaimed London-based label over the past year or so, including 'Tom's Tweaks / Let You Know.

The LP is a direct result of this expanding relationship, with the imprint explaining that "it became clear that there was a bigger project materialising" during "a LOT of back-and-forth" leading to two preceding cuts, 'Wiggler/Trust.

The connection goes well beyond the studio, with Hodge previously playing during an Ormside Projects takeover by Local Action, and at the crew's boat party in Hackney Wick this summer.

The latter was originally intended to coincide with the LP announcement, tying in with the watery theme, but delays prevailed.

Nevertheless, both dates saw him drop a number of tracks from the forthcoming record, which Hodge has said "reflects a particular part of my life, inspired by having kids and the chaos and fun that goes with it.

A time where I’ve been enjoying deeper moments on the dance floor, inspired by partying at places that play deep house and garage, places like Glastonbury’s NYC Downlow and certain nights at Bristol’s Strange Brew and The Love Inn.”.
