Haim have teased their New York-inspired new album during an interview with NME, revealing that they are “always writing”.

The Los Angeles trio – comprised of sisters Danielle, Este and Alana Haim – released their fourth and latest studio record, ‘I Quit’, last summer.
Speaking to NME recently, bassist Este was asked about the status of upcoming material from the band as she discussed scoring the new Bella Ramsey film Sunny Dancer alongside Zachary Dawes (Lana Del Rey, The Last Shadow Puppets).
However, Este suggested that she and her siblings would be taking some time out in order to get inspired for their fifth LP. She told NME that she “just want[s] to live in it a little bit and experience life”.

When asked what had been inspiring Haim, and where their next record was heading, she told NME: “I’ve really found New York to be very inspiring. Being here and reconnecting with friends that I went to college with and didn’t have the chance to hang out with because I was living in LA has been really great.
As for what a New York-inspired Haim album could sound like, Este teased: “We’ll have to wait and see! I don’t know the answers yet, but I’m having a great time figuring it out!”.
The musician has also scored the new Callum Turner-starring film One Night Only alongside Christopher Stracey, and composed music for Netflix’s Maid and Anyone But You starring Sydney Sweeney.
She also features in the movie as Aura. Este’s sister and bandmate Alana Haim has starred in the films The Mastermind, The Drama and One Battle After Another over the past year or so.
Last summer, Haim celebrated the release of ‘I Quit’ with a surprise live set at Glastonbury Festival. They then headed out on a UK arena tour in the autumn, following a leg in North America.
In a four-star review of the original album, NME wrote: “‘I Quit’ is set at a crossroads in the grieving process, when lessons have already been learned, but the pain of memories still linger.
