Dry Cleaning brought out Wilco‘s Jeff Tweedy as a surprise guest during their set at Green Man this weekend.

The South London post-punk band played on the Welsh festival’s Mountain Stage yesterday (August 21), and they were joined by Tweedy on guitar for a version of ‘My Soul/Half Pint’.
Tweedy played on the studio version of the track, which was released as part of Dry Cleaning’s third album ‘Secret Love‘ at the start of the year, parts of which were also recorded at Wilco’s Chicago studio The Loft.
The Green Man collaboration marked the first time they have performed the track together live and it came just hours before Wilco topped the line-up on the Mountain Stage to headline the festival.

Wilco’s headline set was their first time topping the bill at the Brecon Beacons festival since 2009, and it came the night after the Chicago band also played London’s Eventim Apollo.

They have also announced three shows in Marrakech for March next year, which will be their first ever gigs in Africa.
Green Man continues tonight with Four Tet headlining and sets from The Beta Band, Cate Le Bon and Nation Of Language. Wolf Alice will close the festival tomorrow night (August 23).
As for Dry Cleaning, NME gave ‘Secret Love’ a four-star review in January, noting: “By continuing to flip the script on what could have been one of the more one-note acts of the decade (on paper, at least), Dry Cleaning have simultaneously surprised and impressed in their artistic evolution.
Even on the edge, the band are still finding new terrain to explore – and you imagine they’ll be at it for a while yet.”.
