Doja Cat has opened up about her cocaine use, combating self-hate and image issues while growing up. The Grammy-winning artist hopped on TikTok on Monday (Aug. 31) for a stream-of-consciousness chat and a moment of reflection, with the blunt candor Doja typically brings.
The star brought her signature candor to TikTok on Aug. 31.
Doja also revealed she struggled with alcohol, but wouldn’t deem herself an “alcoholic,” although drinking became an issue for her. She realized that mixing alcohol with the negative thoughts in her head and bringing that to the internet and social media wasn’t a healthy choice.
Doja Cat continued: “It’s not good to pair these two things together. Stay creative, take care of yourself; you’re not indestructible.”.
Doja also addressed allegations of self-hate, which she confirmed to be true. “It was very obvious that I did. I would even verbalize it out loud when I was 16,” she revealed.
The “Say So” rapper added that she wanted to be public about facing her issues head-on because she believes there aren’t many examples of that right now.
A month from Tuesday (Sept. 1), Doja Cat will kick off the North American leg of her Tour Ma Vie world tour in Detroit on Oct. 1.
