The electronic dance music festival will return to Daresbury, Cheshire, for its 30th anniversary edition between Thursday August 26 and Sunday August 29.

Last night (Thursday September 10), organisers confirmed that The Prodigy are topping the bill on the APEX – one of the world’s biggest indoor festival stages – on the Saturday night (August 28).

It’ll mark the band’s first performance at the event in 14 years, following on from their slot in 2013. Creamfields has teased that the show will be “one of the defining performances of the festival’s 30-year celebrations”.

Next year will also mark the 30th anniversary of The Prodigy’s iconic third studio album, 1997’s ‘The Fat Of The Land’.

Creamfields 2026 was headlined by Calvin Harris, Sonny Fodera, Swedish House Mafia and Disclosure.

The Prodigy recently played some massive outdoor shows in Manchester, Edinburgh, Milton Keynes and Dublin as part of their 2026 ‘Warrior’s Dance’ tour. They also appeared at numerous European festivals this summer.

Speaking to NME late last year, Liam Howlett promised that the group would “deliver the punch” at the live dates. “Every time we go out for a new tour or big shows like this, we spend a lot of time talking about what is possible – how can we make it better,” he said.

At the time, Howlett told us that “new Prodigy music will be heard next year”, though this has yet to materialise. “Before, I described our sound as ‘evil rave’.

This time the new tunes sound like ‘fuckin’ evil rave’,” he explained.

Meanwhile, The Prodigy are set to play their first New York show in 17 years later this month. They shared a “dirty, acid 303” remix of Sleaford Mods’ ‘Elitest G.
