Since DJ Mag tipped Anna Kost as an emerging artist — and after her break out ‘The Very End Of You’ EP on Hotflush-offshoot Who Whom — the Berlin-based DJ/producer has released on experimental labels like Faux-Poly and ÆX.
This time round she’s opted for SSSLIP and Beton Brut’s label rut with ‘Jaw Flex / Werfa’ — two original tracks accompanied by remixes from Buckley and Beaabea.
Opener ‘Jaw Flex’ is a vast, open-ended exploration built on a wobbly low-end and dappled with sparse percussion and moody atmospherics — one for the weirder hours of the night.
