Sabrina Carpenter to Play Ginger Rogers in Fred Astaire Biopic

Sabrina Carpenter está se preparando para vestir os sapatos de Ginger Rogers em um novo biopic. A cantora de Man’s Best Friend foi escolhida (troca de palavras muito intencional) para interpretar a lenda do cinema em um filme ainda sem título de Paul King sobre Fred Astaire, relata Deadline.

Tom Holland protagonizará o triplê de Old Hollywood, enquanto Margaret Qualley interpretará a irmã mais velha da artista, Adele, uma das primeiras parceiras de dança de Astaire e uma estrela no Broadway e no West End de Londres, por direito próprio.

The Man’s Best Friend singer has been tapped (pun very much intended) to play the silver screen legend in a still-untitled Paul King film about Fred Astaire, Deadline reports.

Tom Holland will star as the Old Hollywood triple-threat, while Margaret Qualley will play the performer’s older sister, Adele, one of Astaire’s earliest dance partners and a star on Broadway and London’s West End in her own right.

The casting announcement caps off an already-stacked year for Carpenter, who has performed at the Grammys, headlined Coachella, and collaborated with Madonna over the past few months.

She also won her first Emmy earlier this month for executive producing and performing in The Muppet Show.
