Metallica and Limp Bizkit are hitting the road together in 2027

The metal giants have extended their huge ‘M72’ world tour, which kicked off back in April 2023 to mark their latest studio album ’72 Seasons’.

Following Lars Ulrich and co’s upcoming ‘Life Burns Faster’ Las Vegas residency at the Sphere, Metallica will embark on another stint across the US and Canada next spring.

They’ll be joined at these dates by openers Limp Bizkit and Avatar.

Kicking off on May 8 in Vancouver, the big stadium trek also includes “in the round” stops in San Diego, El Paso, San Antonio, Fayetteville, Kansas City, Raleigh, Indianapolis, Buffalo, Madison, Cleveland and Salt Lake City.

Tickets go on general sale at 10am local time this Friday (September 25) – you’ll be able to buy yours here. Fan club pre-sales begin at the same time today (Monday September 21).

MAY 08 – BC Place, Vancouver, BC 13 – Snapdragon Stadium, San Diego, CA 18 – Sun Bowl Stadium, El Paso, TX 22 – Alamodome, San Antonio, TX 26 – Razorback Stadium, Fayetteville, AR 29 – Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City, MO.

JUNE 02 – Carter-Finley Stadium, Raleigh, NC 05 – Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis, IN 08 – Highmark Stadium, Buffalo, NY 12 – Camp Randall Stadium, Madison, WI 15 – Huntington Bank Field, Cleveland, OH 19 – Rice-Eccles Stadium, Salt Lake City, UT.

Meanwhile, Metallica wrapped up the latest leg of their mammoth ‘M72’ tour with two shows at the London Stadium this summer. The pair of concerts were part of a “no repeats” weekend, with the group playing two completely different setlists.

Earlier on the tour, they covered The Proclaimers’ ‘I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)’ in Glasgow and The Pogues’ ‘Dirty Old Town’ in Dublin.

Kirk Hammett revealed last year that he had 767 new riffs for Metallica’s “next album”, teasing that the project might see them “go back to the ‘90s again”.

More recently, drummer Lars Ulrich looked ahead to the Las Vegas residency by saying he was “fucking awestruck, inspired [and] energised” by U2’s stint at the Sphere.

Meanwhile, Limp Bizkit headlined Download Festival back in June with a triumphant set filled with classics. The slot came 23 years after they pulled out of the inaugural edition of the event.
