Bad Bunny Wins His First Emmy Award

Bad Bunny is officially an Emmy award winner. At the Creative Arts Emmys on Saturday night, his Super Bowl LX Halftime Show swept all seven categories it was nominated in.

It made the Debí Tirar Más Fotos artist’s all-American spectacular the most-decorated nominee of the night. The special brought home the Emmy for Outstanding Variety Special (Live), becoming only the third halftime show to clinch the category.

It also nabbed awards for music direction, choreography, sound mixing, lighting design, technical direction/camerawork and directing. (Bad Bunny technically has a claim to an eighth award, although it won’t actually go to him: the episode of Saturday Night Live he hosted last season won the Emmy for Outstanding Makeup for a Variety, Nonfiction, or Reality Program.) Bad Bunny’s wins mean Jay-Z, an executive producer on the halftime show, also has another Emmy under his belt.

Jay previously won for his work on Kendrick Lamar’s 2025 performance at Super Bowl LIX, which, until last night, held the record for the most Emmys won by a Super Bowl performance.

Other notable wins include Sabrina Carpenter, who snagged her first Emmy for her role as a performer and executive producer on The Muppet Show. (The special secured the statuette for Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded), beating out Taylor Swift’s The Era’s Tour | The Final Show.) The Billy Joel HBO miniseries And So It Goes won in the Outstanding Sound Mixing For a Nonfiction Program category, and 50 Cent’s Diddy documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning brought home an award for Outstanding Picture Editing for a Nonfiction Program.
