Andrew Savage Launches New Band Iconic Fugues with “2025 Dream/2025 Blues”

Andrew Savage has a new band with a new song out today. The Parquet Courts frontman has launched a new group, Iconic Fugues, with a two-pronged track that’s surely relatable to anyone who has a rose and a thorn of the past year.

Check out “2025 Dream/2025 Blues” below. According to Savage, “2025 Dream/2025 Blues” is “about a guy who wakes up from a dream only to be confronted with a series of increasingly consequential, harsh realities.” Despite that dire synopsis, he doesn’t see the song as a total bummer.

Although the group’s final form “is still being decided,” as Savage told Shaad Magazine this week, a recent performance by the Marseille-based band featured his Several Songs About Fire collaborator Dylan Hadley and Santiago Aldunate of the psych-rock band Hantayo.
